Clay Purl - Nashville, Indiana

Along with four of my friends I took a during-the-week day trip to Brown County - Nashville, Indiana.  The day was perfect with a breeze cooling down the hot sun.  The highlight of the road trip for me was definitely visiting the Clay Purl.  Owner, Michele Hayes, was there.  I recognized her from her picture on her blog  The location of the Clay Purl is a garden setting nestled among other shops.  You step off the small street and onto decking and a few steps down into the Clay Purl.  Enticing you to go inside looking into the window you will see a sheep shaped wooden basket full of yarn.  The Clay Purl has all of the yarn you could possibly want to purchase for your knitting or crochet.  Michele has stocked quality yarns and bamboo knitting needles.  Michele's son is a clay artist and provides the shop with yarn bowls for you to purchase.  I missed out on a yarn bowl at this visit, but I will return soon or order one to be mailed to me.   The Clay Purl is uncluttered and inviting.  There is a table and chairs to work on projects or you could plop yourself down in one of the two comfy armless chairs.  Michele was very kind and easy to visit with.  When you are in Nashville, Indiana make a trip to the Clay Purl on Franklin Street to purchase the yarn for your next knit or crochet project.  And if you're lucky enough to have the Clay Purl as your LYS, Michele offers knitting classes.  Click above to visit her blog for her class schedule.
